Before founding The Simple Web Studio, I spent years watching the same pattern play out again and again. Design studios built beautiful pages that fell apart underneath — slow, poorly structured, impossible to maintain. Development companies built solid, fast websites that looked like they were made in 2014. Each side excelled at exactly what the other lacked, and the business that hired them always ended up with only half the equation. That never struck me as a reasonable choice. A website that sells needs both things at once: it has to look as good as the business it represents, and it has to work properly underneath. I founded The Simple Web Studio so I wouldn't have to choose between aesthetics and technique — and so businesses on my island wouldn't have to either. Every project I deliver goes through that filter: does it look the part? Is it properly built underneath? If the answer to either is no, it isn't finished.
